Meningitis is the most common infection of the central nervous system and the group studied is important because it has risk factors different from the general population. Objective: to describe the clinical behavior, diagnosis, treatment and paraclinical findings in the population with infectious meningitis of the Central Hospital of the Police of Bogotá DC, during the period 2004-2010. Materials and methods: descriptive observational study of a series of cases. Qualitative variables were analyzed in the form of absolute and relative frequencies, quantitative variables through measures of central tendency and dispersion. Pasw Statistics 18 (Universidad el Bosque license) was used. Results: 42 patients with an average of 30.44 years were studied; 30 (71.4%) had comorbidities, of which 25 did not have comorbidities while 17 patients (40.5%) did. CSF was cloudy in 31 cases (73.8%), CSF gram was practiced in 30 samples and was positive in 14 (33.3%). Seven of the 42 patients died during the time they had meningitis (16.7%).
