Particle image velocity (PIV) is an optical flow visualization method in which it is possible to capture velocity fields in fractions of a second. Its development began in the 80s of the last century. This is a non-intrusive booming method, the fluid is found along the length of the container section where the fluid is located. Through this system a graduation study of the flow velocity of a fluid is obtained. In this work we present results of manufacturing and testing of a PIV system tracking algorithms with the help of software to determine the field of directions and speeds of a set of particles in a water tank.
