The objective of this work was the validation of standardized chemical methods for the determination of water quality in the manufacturing units in the sugar processing. This was achieved through analysis of targets, patterns and samples that allowed knowing the functionality characteristics of the validated methods, such as: accuracy, precision, limit of detection and quantification, linear interval and uncertainty. Both the characterization of the process waters that are recovered, recirculated or transformed into effluents during the elaboration of sugar and the quantification of the loss of sucrose through a correlation DBO21 vs COD, are derived from the essential objective of this work of degree. The performance of the method showed that the accuracy of the methods in low and high concentration ranges is equivalent to that reported by the ASTM, SMEWW and EPA, the accuracy is acceptable with coefficients of variation lower than the Horwitz acceptance Sugar cane Water quality Validation DBO21-DQO correlation
