This manuscript shows the work developed by control systems students designing, implementing and controlling a pneumatic levitator system. We present results for system implementation, system identification, and control system design and implementation. We also report, from the students point of view, what concepts were strengthened while working on the project, a summary of project conclusions, and also some real implementation results. Finally, we compare the overall outcome of the class with the previous semester class with no project assignment, in order to conclude about the convenience of project-based learning.
