The objective of this research was to analyze teacher perception about the applicability to the pedagogical institutional model: beliefs, skills and strategies to make learning more feasible in educational contexts and its relationship with the Generic Competences of Being in the students of the Fundacion Universitaria Tecnologico Comfenalco. In order to do this, a qualitative research proposed, conducting an exploratory-descriptive study in order to investigate the teaching practices taking into account the socio-economic contexts ?where the students are developed and the institutional model that governs the institution?. Semi-structured observations and interviews explored the perception that prevails in teachers and how this manifested in the learning process in the students in the classroom. The relevance of the results of the present study resides in the accomplishment of a psychoeducational diagnosis that allows create strategies of teacher training in the institutional framework of the strengthening of the Generic Competences of the Being of students who attend the Fundacion Universitaria Tecnologico Comfenalco. It is evident that teachers make use of the constructivist model, which proposes the institution, and identifies that a minority of teachers use the behaviorist model and tradition to stimulate student learning.
