Inflammatory pseudotumor or myofibroblastic tumor of the spleen is a benign, unusual splenic primary neoplasm, also described in other lymphoid organs, gastrointestinal tract, meninges and soft tissues. The cause is not clearly understood, but theories related to immunological deficit, Epstein Barr virus infection and vascular disorders have been proposed. The case that is described in a young patient corresponds to this pathology that as far as we investigate has not been described in our country and few are reported in the literature.
