This paper is postulated as a study of the reality in which the figure of the food quota is framed, thus determining its functionality as a guarantor of the rights of children; But at the administrative level, that is to say before reaching the judicial route, focused on the work that takes place in the commissariats of family, on those cases that are solved through the extrajudicial conciliation.Specifically, the municipality of Los Patios when the family commissariats were used as a research setting.The methodology used is framed within the type of socio-legal research, which follows the historical hermeneutic paradigm, with a qualitative approach and a hermeneutical method.A field study was carried out, using semi-structured interviews applied to the commissioner of family and depth made to an actuator of a specific case.Likewise, statistical data of cases carried out in this institution were reviewed during the years 2015 and 2016, information compiled through a data matrix.The information was processed through categorization.Finally, they are presented as results of the research work: the procedural conditions for the fixation of food quotas in family commissariats, where the fed is a child, girl and/or adolescents; the management given by the family commissioners in these cases; and the relevance of this figure in the face of contextual elements of reality perceived by thoseinvolved.
