Any kind of artistic expression can reflect the real life or a personal vision of reality. This expression of reality sifted by the vision of the world of the artist has been able to reflect differential aspects of the human figure; consequently, it is not surprising that they have been drawn, painted or sculpted congenital malformations and inherited diseases.Congenital malformations, hereditary or not, coexist with humanity either by their prevalence through inheritance or by the rate of de novo mutations. The artist has faced the malformations either because they themselves were suffering or because with the depiction they wanted to convey some particular message. This paper describes these pathologies grouped by epochs in order to maintain a contextualization of the work of art in its time.
