This work presents the results of a research carried out during five years by the interdisciplinary team of the Observatory of Restitution and Regulation of Agrarian Property Rights, which consists of different academic units of Colombian universities, such the Universidad Nacional, Rosario, Norte, Sergio Arboleda, and Sinú. This initiative was funded by Colciencias and its research agenda included a follow-up of the implementation of the policy from different methodological and disciplinary approaches. The research teams collected information in different areas of the country, mainly in the Colombian Caribbean region, through interviews with victims of the armed conflict, businessmen, politicians, public officials, as well as land restitution judges and magistrates, and followed up on land restitution sentences. In addition, in order to collect a robust body of evidence, they also participated in interventions in instances such as the Constitutional Court, seeking to present the solid conclusions included in this book.
