SÍNDROME DE BURNOUT EN PROFESORES DE UNA INSTITUCIÓN DE EDUCACIÓN SUPERIOR DE MANIZALES-COLOMBIA - BURNOUT SYNDROME IN PROFESSORS WORKING AT A HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION IN MANIZALES-COLOMBIA
Objective: to identify the prevalence of the Burnout Syndrome in professors working at a private higher education institution of Manizales. Methodology: cross-sectional descriptive research. The sample was conformed by 144 professors. The instruments used were the MBI- Educator Survey de Maslach, Jackson and Schwab (1986), and a demographic and job-related variable survey. The analysis of the information was done through a SPSS version 25. Results: a high percentage of professors with a low level of emotional exhaustion 66%, a low feeling of personal fulfillment (38.20%) and a high percentage of professors with a high-medium depersonalization (72.9). Regarding the demographic and job-related variables, meaningful differences related to genre in the measurement of emotional exhaustion and depersonalization were found. Conclusions: in general, the professors reported low levels of emotional exhaustion and of personal fulfillment, and a high level of depersonalization.
