This paper presents a pedestrianization and semi-pedestrianization approach for certain corridors in the downtown of Medellin city, analyzing their impact within their own dynamics in accordance with new public policies of environmental sustainability and prioritization of non-motorized modes, understanding the incorporation of this infrastructure as a mechanism for both urban renewal and conservation of the cultural heritage, of an area that has presented a physical and social deterioration in recent decades, derived from changes in land use, invasion of public space and high volumes of floating population. The proposal of pedestrianization and semi-pedestrianization aim to give continuity to the existing pedestrian network, proposing new circuits that connect sites of cultural, educational and sociopolitical interest.
