This work is a contribution to the discussions presented at the International Architecture Seminar conducted bythe Universidad de la Costa, in Barranquilla, Colombia, in October 2017. This article tries to consider some of theprocesses related to everyday life and the public appropriation of free spaces in peripheries of large Brazilian metropolises.
