Environmental education is a pedagogical methodology that allows students to get closer to the reality of the community, understanding environmental phenomena, which awaken scientific interest and allow finding solutions to them. The objective of the study was to implement environmental education based on research as a pedagogical strategy supported by TIC. Methodologically guided by the qualitative approach with a descriptive design, the techniques used were participant observation and field diary, was attended by forty-eight (48) students of the tenth and eleventh grade of the IED Nuestra Señora del Carmen de Veladero de Santa Bárbara de Pinto, Magdalena. The main findings revealed a high level of ecological imbalance in the lemon swamp as a consequence of the indiscriminate felling of mangroves, for which the teachers implemented ecological activities based on research for the conservation of the swamp and its mangroves allowing the appropriation of the IEP supported by TIC at school level.
