This book analyzes the development of tensions between the ethnic-territorial struggles of the Chocó Inter-Ethnic Solidarity Forum (fisch) (spaces, strategies, and demands around how territory is understood: a space of life and for life) and the Government's initiatives for peace building, since, on the one hand, the first steps in the implementation of peace agreements have revealed a very large gap between the official discourse and concrete practices that would lead to strengthening territorial and effective peace scenarios. On the other hand, in its more than twenty years of work, fisch had already defined numerous actions in order to protect territories that make up what is now a “strategic scenario” for the building of peace in the country. Thus, this local experience serves as a background to reflect on legal-political processes of great importance regarding the organizational dynamics of black communities throughout Colombia.
