The article seeks the results of the design and implementation of a pedagogical strategy oriented by approaches of project-based learning, problem-based learning and service-learning to develop generic and specific competences in students of four Engineering programs in a University of Bogot́ case. The methodology was designed in four stages: Design, planning, implementation and closure. In this process participation of fulltime professors was important to implement of the pedagogical strategy. More than 600 students enrolled in first and second semester participated. The development of generic competences in students of first semester through a document in accordance with technical standards, and in the second semester, the development of research competencies using strategies for searching information in articles of recognized databases. The study allowed to establish a model that integrates elements of the strategic areas in the University to dynamize the indicators of quality assurance related to the legal provisions and voluntary accreditation processes. The next phase of the project is the systematization of the students' experiences and the measurement of the impact of the pedagogical strategy in the four Engineering programs.
