This document focuses on one of the tools that Colombia utilizes to meet the current need of improving the quality of education throughout the country by institutionalizing an inspection and control system. Public policy recommendations are made by using a qualitative analysis of literature, international experiences, and a diagnoses of the current educational system. The aim of the country is to unify and strengthen the inspection and control system and to create the Superintendence of Education of Colombia for all levels.
