This article presents an analysis for the identification of activities associated to the technological value chain of the Colombian tertiary sector. The main results indicate that the tertiary sector consumed 71.4% of electricity from the National Interconnected System (SIN in Spanish) in 2015, which represents 45,895 TJ; as second energy source is the natural gas with a total contribution of 24% corresponding to 15,444 TJ and finally the oil products with a share of 4.6%, representing 2,948 TJ. The results of estimating the energy demand are also presented for the same sector for the years 2030 and 2050 using LEAP TM software. A positive and a negative scenario modeling was made, starting from a total demand of the sector of 64,300 TJ for 2015. The model results indicate, for the positive scenario, a sector's total energy demand of 67,800 TJ for 2030 and 96,900 TJ for 2050.
