The cerebellum is a motor organ located in the posterior fossa, in close relation to brainstem. Its main function is in the starting of voluntary movements as well as their modulation. It is composed by the vermis in central location and both cerebellar hemispheres lateral to the vermis. It is irrigated mainly by three arteries: posteroinferior cerebellar, anteroinferior cerebellar and superior cerebellar arteries. The objective of this article is to review the functional anatomy of cerebellum and correlate it with neuroimaging.
