The design of a radiological surveillance system for surgical units is presented, which aims at the prevention and reduction of risks of biological effects by the use of ionizing radiation (IR), through the implementation different protocols that cover the most important variables for the protection of workers who are exposed. The methodology was used based on the ARCAL Radiodiagnosis Quality Control Protocol (Regional Cooperation Agreement for the promotion of nuclear science and technology in Latin America and the Caribbean) XLIX of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for a radiometric survey and determination of the delimitations of control zones.
