This article presents the results of a qualitative research with secondary teachers of a public school in the city of Santa Marta, Colombia.The aim of the study was to determine the profile of the knowledge that teachers need to have in order to interact with information, especially the actions related to the search, selection, evaluation and ethical use of information available on the Internet, which is brought to the classroom by the teachers to support the learning process.Through interviews and direct observations, we found that high school teachers have inadequate informational literacy profile compared to the proposal of the Ministry of Education and UNESCO on the professional skills of teachers in the use ICT.
