The widespread utilization herbicides in modern society and their dispersion through wastewater have resulted in extensive contamination of source and drinking waters, particularly several recent studies showed the glyphosate has potential adverse health effects. Therefore, the develope of accurate methods to sense and analyzed the contamination levels in the water have become most relevant. In this regard, this paper presents a Complementary Split Ring Resonator (CSRR) sensor design that uses a novel method for differentiate the permittivity of the glyphosate-water mixture from the substrate permittivity allowing the accurate determination of the glyphosate concentration with the electrical response of the proposed sensor.
