this document describes necessaries guidelines on design of a test bench for a four-stroke single-cylinder Diesel engine and then the selection of processes implemented for its building. During design, ergonomics and safety were considered the most relevant aspects to make a bench adaptable and reliable to the operator while it works, where studies were reviewed in order to adjust coherently bench dimensions based on anthropometrics parameters and conditions for protection guards. After sizing, systems and subsystems, that generate significant effects on structural elements, were validated by load simulations. Building was based on esthetics, materials availability and manufacturing processes easily accessible on market that would offer high quality at low cost. It was concluded that after building, installation and tuned up based on obtained results by tests, bench worked in good conditions
