This article shows us the systematization from the initiative of the Cátedra de Paz implemented in Institución Educativa Técnica Agropecuaria de Desarrollo Rural (IETAD) which appears in a context facing issues as a result of the emeralds war and the drug trafficking in west Boyacá. The objectives aimed to establish which were the knowledge and the pedagogic practices that let us reinforce the citizen culture to improve the peaceful resolution of conflict. A qualitative focus was developed methodologically by means of a systematic design of experiences, acknowledging teachers, parents and students and their practices throughout semi-structured interviews and the social pedagogic cartography. As a result, three lines were approached. A) Civil culture contexts divided because of the culture of illegality, the justice taken into people’s own hands and the rising of families into dysfunctional environments. B) The knowledge: Transcendence and recognition of the law, the values, the due process and the social views. C). Practices: There is a contrast among the good examples vs dysfunctional environments, the sanctions, pedagogic strategies. As conclusions, contrary to violence, moral judgment and the resignification of peasant culture stand out. The emotions evidenced difficulties and also ways to promote the struggle for the revindication and guaranties of rights, the relevancy of the care and their projection. The view from the context and their practice to generate a reflection and the possibility to orient actions to contribute to dignity and the construction of social tissue, especially in the post-conflict transition.
