This article reflects about corporate social responsibility, from its genesis until its contemporaneity applicability, especially in Portuguese case. Watching main actions, developed by cooperate business, in our days, doesn’t mean those actions serve workers or communities so far, but, somehow, they show some sort of good management, regarding economic benefits. With no other objectives than those who describe historic approach of the concept, this work aims to understand also what makes cooperate responsibility real in the case of Portuguese companies. The main methodologic instrument of this investigation is documental research and mixed theory about the subject
