Abstract:

Fibromyalgia (FM) is one of the most frequent causes of diffuse, non-inflammatory, nononcologic chronic musculoskeletal pain. It is usually associated with affective disorders such as depression, anxiety, sleep disturbances, cognitive impairment, and multiple nonspecific somatic symptoms that affect the functionality and participation of individuals in the biopsychosocial sphere, as well as quality of life. For this reason, it is important from the vision of rehabilitation to perform an integral approach of the patient with FM from its diagnosis, to its treatment, rehabilitation and follow-up; Provide strategies to reduce and control symptomatology to the maximum, in order to improve the quality of life, functionality and independence of patients.
