This paper presents results of applying good management practices of Information Technology (IT) using the Incremental Model Management Services Based Governance guide (Sandoval, 2008). The guide uses ITIL as framework for the design and implementation processes associated to IT services within an organization. Particularly, this paper presents the results of applying the guide in an organization in the health care sector, and its validation with reference to ITIL version 3. The objective of this work is generating value through IT for companies operating in Colombia. Particularly, efforts are concentrated in the health sector, since it is pioneer in the use and ownership of IT (Bernstein, 2007: 17), to improve methods of governance used by companies in this sector.
