Studies about entrepreneurship and the entrepreneur have increased and become more relevant concepts in recent years. In addition, new generations have shown interest in the promotion of new businesses by taking the role of leaders and promoters of the development of innovative ideas. For that reason, this research explores, from a theoretical perspective, the concept of the entrepreneur, in order to identify its characteristics and categorize them within a conceptual structure. Previous research has attempted to do categorize the characteristics of the entrepreneur in accordance with aspects such as intention, vision, and business aspirations. However, a clear typification of the characteristics of the entrepreneur is not evident in the reviewed literature. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to develop a conceptual approximation of the entrepreneur from the perspective of the person. Additionally, to categorize the entrepreneur's characteristics according to the factors that influence the acting and dimensions under which they have been studied before. This research was developed through a systematic literature review and by the construction of an affinity diagram. As a result, we obtained synthesized knowledge on the topic and a conceptual schema that makes a significant contribution to future research.
