In this paper we propose a new methodology called Multi-Objective System for Traffic Optimization (MOSTRO). This methodology was applied to a case study of two urban intersections which are developed using tools such as SUMO and TraCI4Matlab. The application of MOSTRO seeks to increase the availability of the road network and reduce congestion in a traffic system, by calculating the optimal times of the green traffic light signal. In addition, in order to quantitatively evaluate the performance of the network using the proposed methodology, an analysis of the length of vehicles in queue with respect to the fixed time indicator is carried out demonstrating that the MOSTRO methodology represents a better performance in the network compared to the fixed time. For this specific case study, MOSTRO represents a reduction of 19.45% of vehicles waiting in queues compared to fixed time.
