One of the pillars of the world economy is the mining of coal and other materials. As production has increased, the emergency rates in the sector have increased. There are many risk factors in the mines and one of them is associated with ventilation problems. This paper highlights the need for an investigation on ventilation networks and some contexts that can be worked from the control approach, searching tools lead to the automation of systems in the mining sector. This paper shows some advances in modeling ventilation networks with application to underground mining, and illustrates their application through a basic example of an underground coal mine with 4 tunnels and a fan.
