This paper discusses the life story of five women who recognize themselves as empowered, a quality originated in their private life but with an impact on the wide path that each one has in its main economic activity. Three techniques were used: focus group, autobiography and depth interview, and approached from the narrative biographical method. Experiences, constructions and significant of those involved in the investigation show that empowerment of women is a long process that requires daily reflections, decisions, emancipation and a strong determination to stay on the path chosen.
