espanolLa ingenieria aplicada en contextos reales es una metodologia usada en el curso de consultorios de Ingenieria de Facultad de Ingenieria Civil de la Universidad la Gran Colombia, [2] con el fin de darle la oportunidad a los estudiantes de ultimo semestre de fortalecer sus competencias cognitivas, tecnicas y de analisis para solucionar problemas de ingenieria reales en poblaciones vulnerables. De acuerdo a la mision del Programa descrita en el PEI, es muy importante que el docente participe directamente en la formacion del estudiante para que asuma actitudes criticas, argumentativas y propositivas en funcion de la solucion de problemas de ingenieria en el contexto social. El objetivo de este articulo es compartir nuestras experiencias de la practica docente en el desarrollo del curso de consultorios con base en la solucion de problemas reales en contextos reales. Este curso les da a los estudiantes la oportunidad de trabajar en proyectos reales y solucionar problemas sociales reales con responsabilidad social. El trabajo a evidenciar en esta practica es el desarrollado por los estudiantes acompanados directamente por docentes para la realizacion de un diagnostico de un area especifica, sus construcciones e infraestructura urbana en el Municipio de Soacha, que ha venido creciendo en el numero de habitantes y viviendas en asentamientos subnormales debido al desplazamiento social. EnglishApplied engineering in real contexts is a methodology used in the Capstone course at the school of Civil Engineering at La Gran Colombia University. Students in their last semester have the opportunity of strengthen their cognitive, technical and engineering abilities and skills finding solutions to real problems for helpless population. According to the Institutional Educative Project (PEI), it is important that the faculty participate actively on students’ development of critical thinking, communication skills, and positive attitudes while solving engineering problems into a social context. The main objective of this article is to share our teaching experiences while teaching the Capstone course that consist in finding solutions of real problems in real contexts. This course give the students the opportunity to work and solve real social problems and being in contact with the reality solve them. The work to be evidenced in this practice is the one developed by the students, accompanied directly by faculty in the diagnosis of an specific area, their buildings and urban infrastructure in the Municipality of Soacha, that has being growing as a consequence of the social displacement.
