The construction of archaeological discourse in some regions can be related to two aspects: the contemporary context and the background of representations built on a given landscape. This paper analyzes the historical-archaeological development of these aspects, specifically in archaeological practice in Colombian eastern llanos. This reflection will be based on the context of contract archeology, and since it does not work on a social vacuum, the pre-texts are described, a series of cultural assumptions, which give it its operability, most of times, in an uncritical way.
