In this paper we present a comparison between two habitat sites in the basin of Piedras Blancas river. We are interested in the practices developed by domestic groups that inhabited them. We begin with an overview of the domestic sphere studies in archeology of Colombia and the Porce River. In Piedras Blancas, the intervention starts regionally, continues with the semi -detailed examination of houses and concludes with the extensive excavation of some of them. We found that the immediate context near to saline sources, occupied for 180 years since the beginning of c. XVI A.D., is distinguished by goldsmithing and salt production. In contrast, in the farthest place, partly contemporary, elements associated with the spinning and basketry were recorded. These practices gave social recognition and created links with large networks of interaction. We found no significant contrasts in wealth between domestic groups, or evidence of formalized political leadership.
