This research highlights the problems that transference presents in the treatment of psychosis. Lacan, from the structural condition of psychosis, proposed a strategy in the analyst's position –“secretary to the alienated” – and introduced a new conception on the “transference maneuver” in the treatment of psychosis. We wonder: what is the conception of transference maneuver in psychosis? And, what is the logical articulation between transference maneuver and secretary to the alienated? The psychoanalytic research allowed for specifying that the analyst's position determines the transference maneuver and makes a treatment possible.
