The aim of the study was to determine the status hearing, breathing and phonation and the relationship with sociodemographic and communication in urbanwanderers of a transport company in the city of Popayan factors 2013. The population consisted of 126 transporters.A descriptive study of transverse, quantitative cut was made. They were used as instruments clinical history, audiometry, assessment of respiratory function and vocal profile Wilson. The data analysis was performed using SPSS version 20. Results: a slight lev auditory sensory hearing loss was found in 27% of the population; onthe respiratory status presented altered in 39.7%, no significant phonation disorders were observed. On the other hand, being older than 30 years increased by 5.1 times the risk of hearing loss, and work more than 10 years as conductor increases the risk of impaired auditory function in 2.8 times; also work more than 8hours a day increases the risk of hearing loss in 2.0 times. Having otologic history shows a 3.3 times increased risk of hearing loss. Finally, have a history fonatorios increased 2.7 times the risk of causing changes in respiratory status and 3.5 times the risk of changes in the perceptual characteristics of the voice. Conclusion:The study results allow to establish changes in the state of communication in the study population, especially in hearing and breathing, which can significantly affect their work, family and social performance. Although no statistical significance was found regarding respiratory status and phonation, it is necessary to take preventivemeasures to prevent its occurrence.
