This paper presents a concept about the operation of the equipment used in communications networks topologies for medium voltage (MV) electrical substations. Some tests for information transportation for the equipment that make up the LAN system architecture is also proposed. Subsequently the results obtained in the tests of the devices working with high traffic information are presented, evaluating WAN and LAN architectures to ensure quality in the operation of the equipment and the transmission of the data. These tests can verify network availability and implement firewalls that allow setting basic safety strategies to ensure the reduction of vulnerabilities in the information to be sent.
