Our study object is the discourse about violence in teachers’ strike movement, occurred in 2015.We aim to show how meanings related to the 2015 strike slid and produced effects of meanings related to violence, the choice between being on the side of education or violence and abuse of power by the state government. Analysis corpus is consisted of two materialities, a billboard jagged from urban space of the city of Guarapuava, broadcast by APP-Union and a text-image that circulated on social networks and has at its center the statement-image in which the state governor, Beto Ri- cha is represented as Adolf Hitler. The analysis has as theoretical support the French Discourse Analysis. We conclude that the dis- course of violence and abuse of power is sustained from the speech (recall) that establishes effects of meanings that support a speech about (celebration) that updates meanings. Memory networks are established around events and figures that belong to history and mean as historicity. --- DOI: http:/dx.doi.org/10.12957/matraga.2017.26217
