In this research we studied the dynamics of nucleation and growth of palladium on aluminum. The use of cyclic voltammetry technique, allowed to find the region where the reduction reaction of palladium occurs. Then cathodic currents were studied under potentiostatic conditions in terms of theoretical models of diffusional nucleation , based on transient processes such as those established by Sluyter [ J. Electroanal . Chem 177 (1984) 13] and HeermanTarallo[J. Electroanal.Chem 470 (1999) 70]. Were determined nucleation parameters: the coefficient of diffusion of ions palladium (DPD), the nucleation rate constant (A) and the number of active sites (N_O) on aluminum. Was characterized morphologically by electron microscopy instrumental techniques (SEM) and EDX, the nucleation process of palladium by pulsedelectrodeposition under slow growth, with pre oxidation.
