De grande representacao para a economia brasileira, a agricultura familiar e um setor que ainda possui diversas necessidades referentes as politicas publicas mais eficazes. O atraso tecnologico vivenciado pela maioria dos pequenos produtores e um fator determinante na renda das familias que sobrevivem da producao. O processo de agroindustrializacao tem sido promovido como forma de levar inovacao tecnologica para o meio rural, agregando valor aos produtos oriundos da producao familiar. O objetivo do presente trabalho e analisar, do ponto de vista do processo de inovacao, a producao e processamento de palmito trabalhado no Projeto de Desenvolvimento Sustentavel (PDS) Bonal, localizado no Municipio de Senador Guiomard, AC, comparando-os com os resultados do periodo empresarial da area. A metodologia utilizada baseia-se, alem da revisao bibliografica, no levantamento e analise de indicadores de avaliacao economica, como producao e produtividade. Os resultados indicam que houve uma reducao expressiva na producao e processamento do palmito, tendo em vista as proprias caracteristicas das inovacoes trabalhadas. INNOVATION, AGRARIAN REFORM AND FAMILY FARMING: THE CASE OF HEART OF PALM PRODUCTION IN BONAL SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT ABSTRACT Being highly representative for the Brazilian economy, family farming is a sector that still has various needs related to more effective public policies. The technological backwardness experienced by most small producers is a determining factor in the income of the families that survive through the production. The process of agro-industrialization has been promoted as a way to bring technological innovation to the rural environment, adding value to products from household production. The aim of this work is to examine, from the point of view of the innovation process, the production and processing of heart of palm in PDS Bonal, a sustainable development project, located in the municipality of Senador Guiomard, state of Acre, Brazil, comparing them with the results of the business period in that area. In addition to the literature review, the methodology used was based on the survey and analysis of indicators of economic evaluation, such as production and productivity. The results indicate that there was a significant reduction in the production and processing of heart of palm, given the very characteristics of the worked nnovations.
