Introduction: The interdisciplinarity between phonoaudiology, in the scope of the orofacial motor, and dentistry, in the scope of the orthodontics, is attested by many cases when these two sciences need to interact to development adequacy and overcoming of the stomatognathic system. Although objects of distinct study, once the acting of speech is more centered in the form adequacy towards the functions of breathing, chewing, swallowing, and speech, whereas dentistry is concerned more specifically with the correction of dentofacial anomalies, they need to work together in many situations, in order to promote better diagnosis. Studies show that interdisciplinary work offer more effective treatments and better quality of life for patients.
