The present essay allows to spread the theoretical and methodological bases to conceive the biological collections as didactic strategies in the education-learning of the biology; this arises from the experience that was carried out in the restructuring of the collection of Microalgae of the Pedagogic National University, to strengthen and to fortify and to increase the quality of the educative processes, being based on the didactic principle that it indicates that "more through the active participation is learned, focusing the interest in learning doing" (Segura, 2000).Hereby, they propose diverse aspects that highlight the educational purposes inherent in a biological collection and transform it into a didactic strategy, that to the being used in the class classroom allows that the students learn by their own experience; as it explains Segura (2000), "it does not constitute an average one to facilitate education, but that is same education, since to manipulate it is to learn".
