The analysis of the data recovered during the archaeological interventions carried out in the kardo maximus of Corduba has allowed the documentation of some public and private buildings along its itinerary, as well as the abandonment of its sanitary sewers network. These transformations began around the first half of the third century AD and may have been responsible for the changes on the itinerary of this main north to south road. These alterations on its aspect and itinerary are part of a wide process of disruption of Cordoba’s urban fabric. This process has been detected in other streets and squares of the city, as well as at the decumanus maximus, and also in other Hispanic urban settlements.
