Introduction: The cleft lip and palate are congenital malformation that can be defined on the basis of its manifestations, being characterized for palate, lip, or both, structural discontinuity, with these injuries occurring at different locations and with varying lengths. Nowadays, the most accepted classification for these injuries uses as reference is the anterior incisive foramen, defining three main groups for these injuries: incisive preforamen clefts, incisive postforamen clefts, and incisive transforamen cleft.
