This text aims to reflect on the role of legislative and economic reforms in regulating the work of teachers in the service of the Colombian government in preschool, primary and secondary school. Based on an analysis of the logic of market competition, qualification and performance reviews that established teacher evaluation as an instrument thatregulates, regulates the task, and determines the insertion not parameters, retention, promotion and salaries. Its importance lies in the peculiarities of this instrument, since not all public school teachers apply, this coincides to a fiscal reform, determines the contractual relationship of teachers with the state, and affects the construction of the educational area in the country.
