The effort academic thesis, developed in universities, holds a wealth of information that is to be exploited by presenting a collection of the characteristics of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Metropolitan Area of Bucaramanga (AMB) that these works have been collected between 2000 and 2010. To achieve this goal we studied more than 300 undergraduate thesis and graduate of the seven universities representing AMB, of which 80 provided characteristics of each of the organizational components of these companies. We present the statistics of these studies per year, methodology, themes treated and analyzed industry and a series of relevant indicators and qualitative characteristics that can provide a partial radiographic MSMEs of the AMB and the gaps and progress of universities to describe them.
