This article presents the process of developing a digital colorimeter aimed at the training of technical and technological students in careers related to electronics. It begins with an introduction in which the importance of meaningful learning in the formation of competences, abilities and capacities in the students is presented, three different didactic techniques of learning are presented as they are the Problem Based learning, the Case Method and Project-Oriented Learning. The second section focuses on the project-oriented learning method, considering the differences that must be taken into account for the meaningful learning process of technicians and technologists; the third section explains the different activities proposed to coordinate student work in the Project of construction of a photocolorimeter and finally in the fourth section the conclusions of the work are presented.
