In this article we carry out a rigorous study of the philosophical foundations of the democratic clause in the Constitution of 1991.For this work, we start with a definition of democracy as the form of government that aims to ensure greater participation of the people, which can claim at any time their rights and the exercise of power.Also in the text we pointed out the difficulty between majorities and minorities, through a description of the main elements that make up the democratic clause as a guiding principle in the Colombian Constitution and whose realization is necessary for the quality of democracy.Facing the methodological aspect, the article as a partial result of research had a qualitative approach, grounded in descriptive research, under a documentary design.
