The research aims to observe how practically the ICT are used in the social sciences, through the use of a tool like wikis, and at the same time you can improve the development of the teaching-learning process in Social Sciences. According to the above work is based on the concepts of communities of practice, distributed cognition, wikis, armed conflict, history of Sciences and that can be projected to other areas. Moreover, the research was based on a quasi-experimental methodology qualitative order, where two study groups were selected, selectively, a developing academic class and another for the development of a wiki, allowing comparisons where It was observed whether the application of this tool in the teaching¬learning process in the community of IED Los Periodistas, specifically with ninth grade students of that institution is not efficient. So based on this information it was possible to obtain as a result the application of new technologies can support and complement the learning process to enhance traditional education in different educational groups and exploit the resource in innovative ways.
