In 2011, the government of President Santos announced a draft amendment to the Law 30 of 1992 to promote "sustainable self-education." Students rejected the government proposal and initiate a proactive mobilization and media pressure to archive the reform effort. In this story-event, the protest of students and the impact of media and information technology and communication in the development of a struggle embedded in national events, are analyzed.
