This paper represents an improvement of the results obtained in the research project: “Geometrical characterization and 3D digitizing turbocharger impeller of a centrifugal air”, in digitizing and geometric characterization of a turbocharger impeller Garret TV7701. In this case, an unusual methodology for elements of complex geometry as was the digital photogrammetry was used, this method is effective and more economical with respect to 3D scanning. Through taking pictures around the object controlled study, they managed the geometrical data obtained, which were inserted later in Solidworks for 3D scanning thereof; this procedure was performed by creating drawings and sketches around the base circumference with a radial spacing of 5 °. This procedure yielded excellent results for subsequent simulation, demonstrating that the methodology proposed herein represents a viable solution for 3D scanning of parts with complex geometry alternative.
